You do sketch comedy. Why?
Some time ago we met and discovered we shared a comic sensibility, and incidentally, we all wanted to put a strain on our personal relationships and individual career paths.

How did you come up with your title?
It was inspired by a Letterman Top Ten list from the mid-90s.

What do you guys do when you’re not raking it in as Free Love Forum?
Gabe is a producer on the Colbert Report, Jeremy produces video segments for the New York Times and co-wrote, performed, and produced Sony Entertainment’s “Michael Sthal-David: Behind the Star”. Jared works for a real estate and outdoor advertising company, Dieter dicks around as a graphic designer, Anne works in casting, and Paul works for God at Central Synagogue in Manhattan.

What are you compensating for? That is, are you doing comedy because you think you’re genuinely good at it, or because you have a pathological need for acceptance, and feel your existence can only be validated by external appreciation?
Both?

How did you guys meet?
We met as classmates in the public education system of Madison, Wisconsin. Several of us were friends in middle, elementary, and high school, but we didn’t start toying with comedy until we found the A/V club in 8th grade. Up until we graduated high school, we hosted an adolescent call-in show on public access TV that included sketches and our title. After a brief four-year break for college, we regrouped in New York with the aim of becoming a proper sketch comedy troupe. We’re still working on that one.

Do you guys have any influences?
Yes.
